From God's Words to Us

August 23: 1 Corinthians 15: 41

"There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another in glory."

Yes, and all the heavenly bodies are beautiful, although individual and different. As ones who belong to God, we are also individual and different, but scriptures say we will all acquire the reflected glory of God when we are with Him (Romans 8:18; 8:30).

 

August 31: Ephesians 4: 30

"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."

We understand from this verse that the Holy Spirit can be saddened; He is a Personage and not an impersonal "force." He has also sealed us to God for redemption in due time. Our love for God goes right to the heart of the Holy Spirit.

 

September 2: John 2: 6-8

"Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them,'Fill the waterpots with water.' And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, 'Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.' And they took it."

Soon, the "water" was served to the master of the feast and the guests. Jesus had turned the water into wine, and it was the best anyone there had ever tasted. Jesus chose to make this miracle His first. He was present at a wedding, and made certain it was wonderful all the way through. He loved weddings, and perhaps was thinking of His own wedding to come, and His very own bride; all of us, which will be the best miracle we will ever have a part in.

 

September 14: Ephesians 4: 23-24

"Be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man which was created according to God, in righteousness and holiness."

We have become new packages that hold the Spirit of the Lord inside, converted and walking in the world as His people.
