Prenatal Bond

In The Bible, God has the characteristics of both Loving Father and Nurturing Mother, in One Spirit; He tells us that we are His children. This familiar relationship highlights just one aspect of His Being, but encapsulates the very essence of His heart toward us. newbornBooks™ is particularly excited about the pregnancy and birthing phases of this relationship because we have seen that, as well as growing-up before Him in the traditional sense, a Christian life is also set on a course of continual growth akin to that of a tiny fetus developing at each stage of its incubation state: We become a precious promise, nurtured within Him, as much as His Spirit is growing within us. This is a largely undescribed but most compelling perspective, revealing how God is supernaturally pregnant with a tremendous plan for Earth, with a treasured relationship for every soul within her, and with individual calls that fulfill our lives.

Marriage Relationship

Second, we recognize the common perception in The Bible that Jesus Christ is the Radiant Bridegroom of His Church. The Passionate Lover and His Beloved wait to be supernaturally joined in future time: This is The End. Nevertheless, Jesus Christ is also our most intimate life-companion with whom we may birth new beginnings now. Among others, Hosea 2: 16 proclaims: "In that day," declares the Lord, "you will call me 'my husband'; you will no longer call me 'my master.'" Discover further with us how we may each know Him as Spiritual Husband in a breathtaking love-relationship like no other! Historically, Madame Guyon, lost in her Spiritual Spouse, was imprisioned by the Church! And spiritual giants Charles Finney and George Whitefield expounded upon Christ as Husband of the whole Church. They compared our physical marriage vows to those spiritual ties that we have with Christ, but this relationship is not preached from many pulpits today. Perhaps in cloisters around the world Christ is whispered of as Husband, perhaps amidst the groaning of an intercessory prayer group where words give way to Passionate Encounter, perhaps in isolated prison cells in places of persecution, but not in our general congregations. It is even more rare to find discussion on how the entire physical side of the marriage relationship, with its emotional and physical delights, should be mirroring the spiritual intensity of the daily Christian experience with the Holy Spirit!
